New and noteworthy: a musical about Emperor Nero. Featuring an outstanding cast (with many Grammy and Academy Award winners) and an unparalleled location, inside the Vigna Barberini on the Palatine Hill. The audience can take in the lovely view of the Colosseum and the Roman Forum during the show!

Outdoor cinema is back in Trastevere, featuring movies in their original language (subtitled). There are Disney classics on Saturday, followed by horror movies to watch in "silent" mode, meaning with headphones provided for the purpose!

Free opera performances are going on in Rome's libraries, showcasing single acts, the main characters to relive famous music and arias.

"Il Giardino Ritrovato" from June 14 to September 15, 2017, puts on 19 performances of dance, music, and theatre in the garden of Palazzo Venezia.

Summer concerts are also going on at Villa Ada, the wonderful park we've talked about here before.

Concerts in the courtyard of Sant'Ivo alla Sapienza mix musical genres, running the gamut from Gershwin to Strauss, by way of Piazzolla and The Beatles, played by musicians from the Orchestra of the International Chamber Ensemble. Check out the evening of soundtracks to 24 movies from every era — the Pink Panther to Star Wars.

Dance fans, don't miss Roberto Bolle and Friends's show at the baths of Caracalla to celebrate 40 years of the Roman Summer.

Night tours of the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel are still going on, along with night-time visits to the Roman Forum.
